Wow.....what a beauty. Also from the year I was born. I don't know what it is, but the old bikes amaze me more with their beauty and performance more that the latest and greatest carbon-fibre wonder bike ever will. Thom J.
Looking good at nearly 60! I have two 1958 models. The ones I have came with "hockey stick" chainguards. Sheldon Brown claimed they were good for 100 years with normal maintenance. These 3 may just prove him right! I've noticed that the bikes built in the 1950's, as compared to ones from the "bike boom" era, seem to have a better "build quality" to them. They still make great train station "commuters".
