1947 Schwinn Henderson

(Click for full photo)

1947 Schwinn Henderson 1947 Schwinn Henderson (Women~s 26" inch) This bike was found thrown out on a trash pile (next door), rusted but complete, except for the original seat cover. It had been repainted about 20-30 years before in dark metallic blue. It had Goodyear 26 X 2.125 tires mounted when new, one of which I have stored. Has Bendix single-speed brake. It appeared to be a bike with few options, not even the chrome rims. Serial #B56979. Bike was completely disassembled, and paint was removed to the bare metal. It was determined the original color was light blue. Frame, forks and fenders were then painted (I admit, rather cheaply) with Plasti-Kote Old Ford Blue and Hot Rod White Engine Enamel. Handlebars, handlebar stem, Bendix rear hub and front hub were rechromed, and the sprocket and crank were cleaned and polished. The dark blue paint, which had been sprayed over the head badge, was removed. The badge was polished back to it~s former glory, but was left in it~s all-brass state. New Pyramid rear-view mirrors and a U-Stone headlight were mounted to the handlebars for added effect, and spoke-mounted reflectors were added as well, for possible night riding. Altogether, I~ve thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

1955 Columbia

(Click for full photo)

1955 Columbia According to the serial number and some other research, I am certain that this is a 1955 Columbia balloon tire bike. I see no tank mounting tabs. Leather persons spring saddle is actually still somewhat comfortable. I do not know the model, but a catalog showed a similar paint scheme bike as a "W29T". This was a 52-53 cat. though. Missing the fender light(aren~t they all?) About to begin a resto on this bike soon.

1974 High Wheeler

(Click for full photo)

1974 High Wheeler I have what I belive to be a reproduction of a highwheeler bicycle. The front tire is 28x1.5 the back tire is 16x1.5. The seat is leather with springs and says troxel the pedal says made in usa k10491. The frame has hooks like it was taken from a bicycle with handle brakes and a wire to the back tire. But there are no breaks at all. It is in great shape. I recived it from my landlord who is 75 years old and he has owned it for many years. He will not give me any information on it he said I would figure it out. I am from Cleveland Ohio and so was my landlord so I thought maybe it might be made by lowell kennedy from defiance ohio who made reproductions in 1974 but I don~t know. I haven~t been able to find any bike that looked like it.

1980 CCM

(Click for full photo)

1980 CCM Early 1980s? generic CCM cruiser. Un-original chainguard. Actually, this bike probably wasn~t really built by CCM. It was likely made after CCM went bankrupt and sold the rights to their name. Had a shimano coaster brake, 26 x 1 3/8 wheels. I glued on a headbadge from a late 70s CCM Targa
