THIS IS A 1965 SCHWINN VARSITY THAT I RESTORED. IT WAS MY GRANDFATHERS AND IT WAS LEFT IN A SHED FOR ABOUT 20+ YEARS AND IT WAS REALLY RUSTED WHEN I GOT IT. THE TIRES & TUBES WERE SHOT, FENDERS WERE RUSTY, RIMS WERE RUSTY, HANDLEBARS WERE RUSTY, AND IT WAS DIRTY. IT WAS JUST ABOUT READY TO GET THROWN OUT BUT I SAVED IT. I WORKED ALL SUMMER AND FIXED IT UP. THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE NOW WITH FENDERS OFF OF AN OLD HUFFY FROM THE 50~S. I HAD THE ORIGINAL FENDERS ALL SHINED UP BUT I LIKED THESE BETTER. I HAVE ALSO RECENTLY ADDED AN OLD CABLE DRIVE ANALOG SPEEDOMETER, NEW TIRES + TUBES, AND NEW CABLES. THIS BIKE NEVER HAS LET ME DOWN IN ANYWAY AND IT IS A EXCELLENT BIKE. I TREAT IT THE WAY I WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED IF I WAS A BIKE.

Bicycle Type: Misc
RYOBI BIYCLE MOTOR SECOND PICTURE. TO GET A BETTER IDEA OF HOW THIS MOTOR GOES TOGETHER, I HAVE INCLUDED THIS SHOT. THE DRIVE SPINDLE IS SUPPORTED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOTOR BY A BEARING. THESE MOTORS HAVE A HALF CRANK WHICH IS TO SAY THAT THERE ARE ONLY BEARINGS ON ONE SIDE OF THE MOTOR. PLACING THE BEARING ON THE OTHER SIDE HELPS TO SUPPORT THE SPINDLE. IF YOU LEAVE THE EXTRA BEARING OFF, THERE WILL BE A BIT MORE PREASURE ON THE ONE BEARING INSIDE THE LITTLE MOTOR.

1949 Shelby Supreme
(We did not write the comments which accompany each picture - Vinny)
Bicycle Type: Balloon Tire Bike
A RARE AND CLASSIC SHELBY CYCLE CO. SUPREME BICYCLE LADIES BIKE IN NEAR MINT CONDITION, MOST LIKELY MUSEUM QUALITY. THE OWNER~S MOTHER WON THIS FABULOUS TWO-TONED RED AND BEIGE BIKE IN A RAFFLE AT HAMLIN PARK IN EAST AURORA, NY CIRCA 1949 OR 1950, AND BARELY - IF EVER - USED IT, IT HAS BEEN STORED MOST OF ITS LIFE. THE CHROME ON THE TIRES IS BRILLIANT, THE SEAT LOOKS BRAND NEW, AND THE "SHELBY" PAINTED DECALS ARE INTACT. THE BICYCLE~S SERIAL NUMBER IS 49.71781. IT MEASURES 33" TO THE SEAT AND IS 6 FEET IN LENGTH. COMPLETELY ORIGINAL INCLUDING PAINT AND ALL PARTS, THIS BEAUTIFUL BICYCLE SHOWS VERY LITTLE WEAR WITH ONLY A HANDFUL OF SCRATCHES OR SCUFFS AND SOME LIGHT RUST IN A FEW SPOTS AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PHOTOS, MOST OF WHICH ARE A RESULT OF MOVING IT AROUND IN STORAGE AND NOT FROM USE. THE HORN WORKS FINE AS DOES THE LIGHT, THOUGH NEW BATTERIES/BULB ARE NEEDED. ADDITIONAL DETAILS REGARDING THE PARTS INCLUDE: * SEAT: STAMPED "TROXEL, ELYRIA, OH" * TIRES: MARKED "US ROYAL CHAIN, UNITED STATES RUBBER CO." * LIGHT: MARKED "DELTA, MADE IN USA" * FRAME PLATE: "BENDIX" (NEAR BACK TIRE) * KICKSTAND: MARKED "DATA PL" * HANDLEBAR GRIPS: MARKED "FLEXGRIP, PAT. PENDING" * NAME PLATES: ONE SAYS "THE SHELBY, AMERICAN~S QUALITY BICYCLE, THE SHELBY CYCLE CO., SHELBY, OH" AND THE OTHER, "SHELBY SUPREME".
