(We did not write the comments which accompany each picture - Vinny)
Bicycle Type: Middleweight
FIRESTONE 500... ANYONE KNOW WHAT YEAR THIS ONE IS???? IT~S NOT THE 60~S MODEL, THE DESIGN CLEARLY PRE-DATES THAT. ALSO THE NAMEPLATE BEARS FIRESTONE, AND FIRESTONE ONLY (UNLIKE ALL OTHER MODELS THAT WERE PRODUCED BY OTHER COMPANIES ENDORSED BY FIRESTONE). ALSO NO WHERE ON THE BIKE DOES IT MENTION ANY OTHER MAKER SUCH AS HUFFY, COLSON, MONARK, MURRAY, HP SNYDER, CLEVELAND WELDING OR WERNE AUTO. THERE IS A PAINTED EMBLEM THAT READS, ARCO DIV. AMERICAN MARIETTA. I~M AT A LOSS. ALL 500~S I~VE SEEN ARE FROM THE 60~S THIS BIKE CAME FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER (PAID ONLY 30 BUCKS),HE SAYS HE BOUGHT IT FOR HIS WIFE IN THE 40~S AND POSSIBLY 50~S. IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO ON THIS BEAUTY EMAIL ME AT SQUEAKYBEATS25@.COM

1952 Schwinn New World
(We did not write the comments which accompany each picture - Vinny)
Bicycle Type: Lightweight
1952 SCHWINN NEW WORLD, SERIAL NUMBER G16803. THE FRAME IS IN ORIGINAL BLACK PAINT, WITH THE TYPICAL SCRATCHES IN A 50+ YEAR OLD BIKE, WITH A VERY GOOD "SCHWINN NEW WORLD" DECAL ON THE DOWNTUBE AND A PRETTY GOOD "TOP HAT" DECAL ON THE SEAT MAST. THE NEW WORLD HEADBADGE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE FENDERS AND HOCKEY-STICK CHAINGUARD (WHICH IS AN APPROPRIATE PART FOR MANY HIGH-END PRE-WAR SCHWINN BALLOON-TIRE BIKES!) HAVE BEEN REPAINTED, AND THE FENDERS HAVE SOME MINOR DINGS. THE REAR HUB IS A SINGLE SPEED NEW DEPARTURE. RIMS ARE RUSTY. ORIGINAL SCHWINN GRIPS. NICE ORIGINAL SCHWINN STEM IN SILVER PAINT. WALD PEDALS. THE MATTRESS SADDLE IS ORIGINAL, AND ALTHOUGH THE OIL CLOTH COVER IS SHOT, THE PADDING IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, AND WILL RECOVER EASILY. SEAT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL SCHWINN BADGE ON THE BACK. NEEDS NEW 26 INCH X 1 AND 3 EIGHTH "TOURING" STYLE TIRES.

OK, I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT THIS BIKE IS, WHO IT IS MADE BY, IT SAYS. CO-OP ON THE FRONT CREST, WITH A STAR ON TOP OF THIS WORD, THEN IT SAYS:NATIONAL COOPERATIVES INC WITH THE WORD"CHICAGO" UNDERNEATH, AND ANOTHER STAR BENEATH THAT. THE BACK FENDER HAS A ROUND CREST WITH"STATE FARM INSURANCE" ON IT, IT WAS ORIGINALLY DARK BLUE WITH A RED STRIPE. THERE IS A LIGHT ON THE FRONT THAT DOES NOT WORK. MY 1950S HUFFY DIAL-A-RIDE BICYCLE. THEY CALL IT THAT BECAUSE YOU CAN TIGHTEN OR LOSEN THE FRONT SPRING TO GIVE YOU A MORE COMFORTABLE RIDE USING THE KNOB ON TOP OF THE SPRING. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE LIKE THIS BEFORE AND THIS WILL BE A FUN RESTORATION FOR ME. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS PICTURES OF THIS MODEL BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHT IS MISSING AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE CORRECT ONE LOOKS LIKE SO I CAN OBTAIN ONE. DOES ANYBODY HAVE THE CORRECT FENDER LIGHT THAT GOES WITH THIS MODEL FOR SALE? CALL ME OR WRITE ME AT: EUGENE PATE 216-394-1167 GENEPATE@SBCGLOBAL.NET
