Bicycle Type: Lightweight
AN UNIDENTIFIED BIKE-- I HAVE BEEN SEARCH ONLINE HIGH AND LOW AND COME UP EMPTY-HANDED. THE FRAME SAID "MADE IN WEST GERMANY" AND THE LOGO SAID "OLYMPIC DELUXE" AND IT HAS A HUB WITH THOSE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: "TORPEDO DREGONO 415 26P" THE DREGONO WAS HARD TO READ. THE OWNER I PURCHASED IT FROM SAID IT IS MADE IN 60S.... AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A ARCHER BIKE BUT I READ SOMEWHERE THAT ARCHER TEND TO STAMP CODE ON THE HUB AND THIS HUB DOESN~T HAVE ANY CODE THAT FIT THE DATABASE OVER AT SHELDONBROWN.COM SO I STRUCK OUT. HELP ME FINDING ITS FAMILY??????

(We did not write the comments which accompany each picture - Vinny)
Bicycle Type: Middleweight
1960-61 JC HIGGINS WOMEN~S FLIGHTLINER FROM SEARS THE BICYCLE COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL OWNER~S PACKET, AND WHAT YOU SEE IS ALL ORIGINAL, EXCEPT FOR TWO STICKERS (SAFETY CLUB AND 1976 CITY LICENSE) AND THE TIRES, WHICH I~VE SWITCHED OUT TO RIDE AROUND TOWN WITHOUT DESTROYING THE OLD RUBBER. THE BICYCLE WAS IN REALLY EXCELLENT SHAPE, WITH ONE EXCEPTION. THE ORIGINAL OWNER HAD LEFT BATTERIES IN THE TANK, SO THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF CORROSION TO THE BATTERY MOUNT, THE INSIDE OF THE TANK, AND THE UNDERSIDES OF THE FRAME WHERE BATTERY ACID RAN FROM THE BACK OF THE TANK DOWN TO THE BOTTOM TUBE AND OVER NEAR THE CHAIN GUARD. I AM STILL INTERESTED IN GETTING THE LIGHT TO WORK, SO IF ANYONE HAS REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE TANK, LET ME KNOW! HANNAH (HABELBECK AT GMAIL)

MY AUNT BOUGHT THE BIKE THROUGH THE OLD GROCERY STORE STAMP PROGRAM THAT RAN IN THE 60S--YOU GOT GREEN STAMPS AT STORES LIKE CHATHAM AND TOOK THEM TO A REDEMPTION CENTER TO GET STUFF LIKE LAMPS, BOOKS AND BIKES. (IF THIS DOESN~T SOUND FAMILIAR, ASK YOUR PARENTS OR GRANDPARENTS OR ANYONE OVER THE AGE OF 50.) SHE RODE IT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, AND IT HAD A FRONT HANDLEBAR BASKET THAT SHE USED WHEN SHE WOULD RIDE UP TO THE CORNER STORE TO GET MILK OR OTHER GOODIES
