I have been researching a collection of unused New Hudson Cycle Company
cycle tube head badges. In particular I have had no luck finding out whether it is a motor cycle or
bicycle head badge.

1959 Firestone 500 Firestone 500... Anyone know what year this one is???? It~s not the 60~s model, the design clearly pre-dates that. Also the nameplate bears Firestone, and Firestone only (unlike ALL other models that were produced by other companies endorsed by Firestone). Also NO WHERE on the bike does it mention ANY other maker such as Huffy, Colson, Monark, Murray, HP Snyder, Cleveland Welding or Werne Auto. There is a painted emblem that reads, ARCO DIV. AMERICAN MARIETTA. I~m at a loss. All 500~s I~ve seen are from the 60~s This bike came from the original owner (paid only 30 bucks),he says he bought it for his wife in the 40~s and possibly 50~s. If anyone has any info on this beauty email me at squeakybeats25@hotmail.com

1984 Trek 510 I found this 1984 Trek 510 at an estate sale for $5.00! The paint and leather are great. The only thing I had to do to this bike was give it a good cleaning, new tires, and I replaced the bars and put on an adjustable stem. The bike rides like a dream.

OK. I know these things were POS~ in there day. However, When you see

hmmm. WOW. Please let me know if your penchant for nostalgia is as

Thanks,

1948 Spiegel Airman I purchased this Spiegel Airman used in 1949. Model # 51T2577, Serial # A 052882. These numbers located on the bottom of crank housing. Tire size 26 x 2.125. Coaster brake is New Departure model D. Dual coil springers and Serial # fit into the Monark Super Deluxe realm. I?m assuming that Monark built this bike for Spiegel probably in 1948. Color is Maroon with Crème trim. Rear carrier disappeared years ago. Paint is in bad shape. The back ¼ of the front fender and the top most part of the rear fender is total rust. Chrome on wheels might possibly be saved but chrome on the gooseneck and 1/3 of the handlebar is totally gone. The main fork was replaced in the early 60?s but never finish painted. The seat has one rub thru but probably acceptable. I can?t tell if the trim is silk screened or just painted. It sure doesn?t look like decals. Because of the condition of paint and chrome I?m considering restoring. Would that be a dumb move? My E-mail is rkelly26@frontiernet.net
