There Was A Time When:

Bicycles came with fenders (mudguards)
Bicycles came with chainguards
Bicycles came with kickstands
Bicycles came with racks and baskets
Bicycles came with a comfortable seat
Bicycles came with a comfortable upright riding position
Bicycles came with one speed
Bicycles came with three speeds and could be shifted while stopped

Cycling Doesn't Have To Be:

Cycling Doesn't Have To Be Complicated
Cycling Doesn't Have To Be Expensive
Cycling Doesn't Have To Be Uncomfortable
Cycling CAN be done in street clothes!

1965 Schwinn Varsity

1965 Schwinn Varsity This is a 1965 Schwinn Varsity that I restored. It was my grandfathers and it was left in a shed for about 20+ years and it was really rusted when I got it. The tires & tubes were shot, fenders were rusty, rims were rusty, handlebars were rusty, and it was dirty. It was just about ready to get thrown out but I saved it. I worked all summer and fixed it up. This is what it looks like now with fenders off of an old huffy from the 50~s. I had the original fenders all shined up but I liked these better. I have also recently added an old cable drive analog speedometer, new tires + tubes, and new cables. This bike never has let me down in anyway and it is a excellent bike. I treat it the way i would want to be treated if I was a bike.

1973 Raleigh DL-1 Tourist

1973 Raleigh DL-1 Tourist. 3-speed made in Nottingham, England. Sturmey-Archer model AW internally geared 3-speed rear hub. Large 24 inch frame, measured along the seat tube. We found this in a New England bike shop that was going out of business. It has a Florida license on it. No idea of the history, but based on the layer dust on the underside it appears it had been hanging upside-down on hooks for years.

1967 Raleigh Winkie

1967 Raleigh Winkie We have obtained a trike that my husband used to ride as a youngster in England, and then here in the States. It had Raleigh written all over it, and the model name appears to be "Winkie". Not sure of the date of manufacture and cannot find the serial number. Have had no luck in finding anything on the rear hub. We are interested in restoring this tricycle for our son, but would like to obtain any information we can before doing so. Can you help with a useful website, or perhaps a book? Can you tell me where we might find the serial number? Thanks
